CPM Societies
American Academy of Certified Public Managers: The American Academy of Certified Public Managers (AACPM) is a professional association of public sector managers. To be eligible for membership, an individual must have earned the designation of Certified Public Manager (CPM) through a management program accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium and must be a member of an accredited local Society of Certified Public Managers. The AACPM charters the various local CPM Societies, and members of local societies are automactically members of the AACPM.

Arizona Society of Certified Public Managers: The Arizona Society of Certified Public Managers (ASCPM) was formed in 1987 by graduates of the first Certified Public Managers class in Arizona to provide public sector managers with opportunities for advanced educational opportunities, communication, and problem solving skills through networking with peers in government service. Code of Federal Regulations: The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. Each volume of the CFR is updated once each calendar year and is issued on a quarterly basis.

Federal Citizen Information Center: For over 35 years, Americans have been contacting the Federal Citizen Information Center, now known as the FCIC’s National Contact Center (NCC), to get answers to their questions about their government. Initially, the telephone service was available only via local telephone numbers in key metropolitan areas. Now the Center is accessible via the web and nationwide toll-free telephone number, 800-FED-INFO. The NCC responds to thousands of government information requests every business day, either providing the information directly or locating the source of assistance for callers.

Library of Congress: Thomas, the Library of Congress's web site, is an exceptional resource that allows you to search for Public Laws and legislative history, current legislative action, nominations and treaties, information about Congress, and virtually anything in the libraries world renown collection. It also contains a link to the US Code. Finally, the LOC provides an online research service that will forward questions to LOC researchers to deliver answers to users, usually within 24 hours.

Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States: The Public Papers of the Presidents, which is compiled and published by the Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration, began in 1957 in response to a recommendation of the National Historical Publications Commission. Noting the lack of uniform compilations of messages and papers of the Presidents before this time, the Commission recommended the establishment of an official series in which Presidential writings, addresses, and remarks of a public nature could be made available.

US Government Manual:: As the official handbook of the Federal Government, the United States Government Manual provides comprehensive information on the agencies of the legislative, judicial, and executive branches. It also includes information on quasi-official agencies, international organizations in which the United States participates, and boards, commissions, and committees. The Manual begins with reprints of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. A new edition of the Manual is available annually in late summer.

US Chief Acquisition Officers Council: The Chief Acquisition Officers Council (CAOC) was established pursuant to Section 16 of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act, as amended, 41 USC 403, et seq. US Chief Financial Officers Council: The U.S. Chief Financial Officers Council (CFOC) is an organization of the CFOs and Deputy CFOs of the largest Federal agencies, senior officials of the Office of Management and Budget and the Department of the Treasury who work collaboratively to improve financial management in the U.S. Government. US Chief Human Capital Officers: The Chief Human Capital Officers Council (CHCOC) serves to advise and coordinate the activities of members’ agencies on matters such as the modernization of human resources systems, improved quality of human resources information, and legislation affecting human resources operations and organizations. The 25-member Council is composed of the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), who serves as chairman; the Deputy Director for Management of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), who acts as vice chairman; the CHCOs of the 15 Executive departments; and the CHCOs of 8 additional agencies designated by the OPM Director.

It focused on the evaluation of current practice from the perspective of the government and the emphasis of this research was on the evaluation of each Web site in terms of digital governance. Simply stated, digital governance includes both digital government (delivery of public service) and digital democracy (citizen participation in governance). Specifically, we analyzed security, usability, and content of websites, the type of online services currently being offered, and citizen response and participation through websites established by city governments.

While more focused on nonprofit organizations than goverment, there is excellent material on this site for any leader or manager. Since 1979, MAP has provided quality, affordable management consulting and board recruitment services to thousands of nonprofit groups. International City/County Management Association: ICMA is the professional and educational organization for chief appointed managers, administrators, and assistants in cities, towns, counties, and regional entities throughout the world. Maryland Association of Counties: The Maryland Association of Counties is a direct descendant of the State Association of County Commissioners of Maryland, formed in 1951. Prior to then, there were only informal gatherings of the Maryland county officials, and at one time, there were two separate associations of county officials from the Eastern and Western shores of the Chesapeake Bay. The history of these two groups date back to 1939. In 1969, Baltimore City became a member, making the Association representative of the 24 political subdivisions of the State.
